Find No Cavil

This was a sparely (and poorly) updated blog about a law student. Now it is being reborn as a cliche: a Midwestern transplant living in New York City (here, Astoria) I am going to do my best to not write about work. Instead this will be an effort to document and record my attempt to have a life outside of work. Hopefully it won't be too dull.

Made it

Left at 7:30 AM (central time) on Thursday morning. Drove until 11:30 PM (eastern time). Stopped in Netcong, NJ. The drive into NYC was really easy, almost eerily so. The landlord checked in about 6 times, but after that things have cooled down. This is easily one of the nicer apartments i've lived at since i've been a young nomad and since I brought little with me it feels empty. I've hung a bunch of pictures and unpacked almost everything, so the place is looking very homey.

I went out in Greenich (spelled wrong) Village last night. It was fun and a good diversion from sitting around my apartment. I get to go grocery shopping for the first time today, that should be an adventure. Also, I have to start recycling. I have no problem with that, it's just that I will never remember to do it.

Other observations: the drive in general was really easy. Pennsylvania is pretty, but after a couple of hours you get sick of it. Also those Appalachian gas station bathroom are biohazards, by and large.

Tommorrow is the first day I get to go into work (if only for paperwork). Should be interesting
